TEGUCIGALPA -  More than 260 women were murdered this year in Honduras and 90 percent of crimes go unpunished, women rights advocacy organizations denounced Tuesday.
 
Carolina Sierra, coordinator of the Forum of Women for Life, lamented the rise of violent deaths by gender and the weak legal structure that prevents finding and punishing the guilty.
 
As for the causes of violence, Sierra said first patriarchal system of society and the increase in organized crime, human trafficking and drug trafficking.
 
Last year there were 407 females killed in Honduras.
